Dad's new toy!
My parents have out done themselves on this one! They asked me and Josh to come and stay the night with them in Newport, RI last Friday night. They gave us directions to where we were going to meet them. We follwed the directions and ended up at a The Greenwich Bay Marina Club. We knew something was up, but still didn't see it coming. My Dad pointed to a small fishing boat and said "like my new boat?" We thought it was great, and we were excited about his new purchase. He told us to walk down to the docks where the bigger boats were, because he had to meet Steve, the sales rep, to wrap up some last minute details on the sale. We followed along, completely clueless. We stopped at this gorgeous yacht (that supposedly belonged to Steve), and walked on to it. We didn't want to touch anything!!! Steve was supposed to meet us there in 5 minutes. We were just looking around, admiring the boat. We made our way downstairs into the kitchen and livingroom area, and there were framed pictures of my family! It finally clicked, and Josh and I started freaking out! Then dad said one more time... "So, do you like my new boat?" For those of you who know boats... it's a SeaRay Sundance 460.
Needless to say, we will probably be spending a lot of time on the water this summer on our days off (with Isaiah!) Thanks mom and dad!
Here I am, lounging around (what I enjoy doing most these days!) We spent Father's day out in the ocean. The boys had a diving contest off the front of the boat, while my my mom and I soaked up the sun.

Building Update - 3rd Edition
Last week the siding went up on the house. Even if you don't like the colors that we picked out, pretend like you do because it's to late to change them. It's exciting to see it look like a real house on the outside. On another note, we've been going to childbirthing classes...I must say that I've never felt more like a hippy than I do every Tuesday night from 6:30-8:30. -josh

Building Update-2nd edition
A beautiful granite sign as you enter our little subdivision.
Progres! We have doors, windows, a roof and a chimney! Hopefully, the next picture of the front of the house will show some "cypress" cedar shakes with "sandstone" trim. We just picked our colors last week.
As you can see, we still need lots and lots of fill so that we won't need ladders to get in and out of the house.
We love our chimney! My dad's French mason, who has watched me grow up since I was 3, made it special just for us.
Tonight we are having a meeting to design our kitchen cabinet lay out. That should be fun and exciting. I under-estimated the number of little decisions that have to be made when building a house. Fortunately, Josh and I generally have the same taste and opinion on things, so it hasn't been too overwhelming yet. We are having a blast!
